![]() ![]() And the author in Hebrews 2:1 says, "We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away." Is it possible to drift little by little, further and further away from an active, healthy, vibrant walk with Christ, our hearts becoming gradually hardened to the things of God and the dangers of sin? The Book of Hebrews says that not only is it possible, but it's the great danger of our Christian lives. And that is the powerful forces on my soul, causing me to drift away from Jesus. In this way, in little steps, we finally made it back to the beach exhausted.Īnd this became, in the years that followed, a picture to me of the issue that's in front of us in the text today. ![]() But we rode a wave in, and then swam like crazy to fight the current, and then rode the next wave in. ![]() I don't know how long it took for us to get back to the beach. And I said, "Uh oh." And I called over to Chaz, and I said, "We need to start going back in." And he had already seen that danger. Much further along and further down the beach, than when we started. And we were just riding these waves in, and just one wave after another, and just having a great time, until I noticed that we were getting pulled gradually and inexorably out to sea. Almost paid for it with my life, but the best of my life. There's no one swimming here today, except the two of us, as we did some incredible, awesome body surfing, best of my life. We should have thought something at that point. My friend, Chaz Mortenson, and I, we should have known something, that in the middle of the summer, middle of the week, there was not a single person swimming. And it looked like Hawaii, like the pipeline, Waikiki Beach, something like that. There was a big storm, not quite a hurricane, but it whipped the ocean into a frenzy. That was also the summer I almost died in the Atlantic Ocean. I learned to work at a job, a secular job, as a Christian, and be able to put my faith into practice in some challenging work situations. We read a book by David Bryant called "In the Gap." And I learned about missions, about praying for unreached people groups, and became aware of the missionary call of Christ on my life. I learned how to do contact evangelism that summer. And so the summer of 1983, I was doing beach evangelism. And then I went on a summer project at Hampton Beach the following summer in 1983. In the fall of 1982, I gave my life to Christ through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ at MIT. However, it needs a better scoring system and a patch to fix its frequent crashes. For me, personally, the summer of 1983 was a critical summer in my development as a Christian. To conclude, Gods of Drifting is a fun racing game that focuses on drifting and offers a variety of customizable cars and tracks to keep you entertained. Sadly, the game does seem to have some stability issues, as it often crashes when loading a newly unlocked track. Gods of Drifting certainly does not disappoint when it comes to its graphics, as the models, textures and special effects are not lacking in quality and are quite pleasing to the eye. Visually impressive game that is, unfortunately, prone to crashing Nevertheless, you can just ignore the timer and have fun, but you will receive fewer coins at the end of the race, which are required for unlocking new cars and buying upgrades. The only thing that matters is getting to the finish line as quickly as possible, so there is very little incentive to actually drift. Enjoyable drifting experience that would be made better with an improved scoring systemĭrifting is all about style, so it is puzzling that no points are awarded for show factor. There is a respectable selection of vehicles that you can drive, as well as quite a few tracks, although they all look very similar. Once you get the hang of it, though, it is very fun to try and stay sideways as you go through each corner and manage not to lose control of the car. However, this is only meant to make the cars easier to drift with, so it is understandable that they are a little tail-happy. When you start your first race, you may be left with the impression that the cars are a bit difficult to control, as they never seem to want to drive in a straight line. Fun racing game that puts you in the shoes of a professional drifter Gods of Drifting is a game that relies on more than just outright speed, as you have to get around corners in style, leaving smoke and tire marks in your wake. For racing drivers who enjoy drifting it is not reaching the finish line quickly that is important, but how you get there. ![]()
